Hostel life

I’m volunteering at a hostel in Spain by the beach. It has a strong hippy vibe with its ubiquitous artworks that hang, sit and protrude out of every corner. The hostel flaunts its best asset on the third floor: the rooftop terrace, where couches are covered in glittery and colourful Indian fabrics, beige curtains divide the inside from the outside, and mosaic tables absorb the afternoon sun. This is where most of the guests or hostel workers spend the evenings chatting, drinking, reading, Facebooking or starting – but rarely finishing, a game of chess.
